Citizens Advice unlocks a digital-first Client Experience using Virtru
At Citizens Advice Manchester much of the client information it collects and shares contains sensitive and confidential data. This must always be protected and in accordance with GDPR. However, with its clients expecting correspondence to be by email rather than paper-based this used to present huge data protection risks.
An easy-to-use encryption solution from Virtru has successfully addressed this challenge following its implementation in 2018. Since then, seven further Local Citizens Advice member organisations have adopted Virtru for data-centric email encryption.
Available via the G-Cloud 13 Framework, Virtru also offers solutions for encrypting data shared through collaboration tools, cloud environments, and enterprise SaaS applications.
Deploying Virtru at Citizens Advice Manchester has meant advisors quickly become comfortable protecting client data, allowing them to spend more time helping more people. This also supports the Third Sector requirement for minimising time and costs on staff IT training.
Steven Booth, Chief Innovation Officer, Citizens Advice Manchester: “Using Virtru has helped us develop our reputation as an early adopter of technology within the charity sector. We can easily prove to clients that we take their security and privacy seriously, and the speed with which Virtru allows us to communicate securely with clients opened the opportunity to provide better service and help more people.”
